Since November 1993, Andrzej Kowalski has been the President of the Board of Energoprojekt-Katowice SA, a joint stock company.
Under his direction, Energoprojekt-Katowice SA has become one of the largest engineering companies in Central Europe. It specializes in comprehensive project management, from concept work through economic studies, design and completion of deliveries to execution and commissioning.
For several years, he has been working for Politechnika Śląska again, offering academic lectures on new design methods for CHP plants. He reviewed a number of research projects applying for NCBiR funding. His texts were often published in trade magazines.
Also his work–or the company’s work–for the community should not go unnoticed. For over a decade now, Energoprojekt Katowice SA has supported Bezpieczny Dom educational care centre in Bytom, a foundation for children with cerebral palsy, as well as Korez theater and the Silesian Opera in Bytom.
Andrzej Kowalski is a great fan of SF. He co-founded Śląski Klub Fantastyki, Silesian SF Club. An active reader of the work of J. R. R. Tolkien, Andrzej Kowalski goes by the moniker Bilbo in the fandom. His love for books–hundreds read every year–helps him find way through many challenges, that are not uncommon even nowadays in Poland’s economic situation. He never loses hope.
